This Privacy Policy explains how BMW/MINI Electric Journey Simulator 2P (“the App”) processes data, specifically concerning User IDs, Leaderboards, and Mixed Reality spatial data.

The App processes specific types of data to enable gameplay, multiplayer synchronization, and competitive features.

A. Platform Data (PII): The App accesses the following personally identifiable information provided via Meta’s APIs:

  • Meta User ID: A unique identifier used to associate your scores and manage multiplayer sessions.
  • Meta Username: Displayed on the in-game global leaderboard and to other players during multiplayer sessions.

B. Spatial & Mixed Reality Data: To enable Mixed Reality (MR) and “Colocation” (multiple players in the same physical space), the App uses:

  • Spatial Anchors & Shared Anchors: Digital markers that allow the App to track points of interest in your physical space. Shared Anchors allow multiple users to see the same virtual objects in the same physical location.
  • Scene Data / Point Cloud: The App utilizes device-generated spatial mapping (Point Cloud) to understand your surroundings (e.g., detecting walls or furniture).
  • Note on Privacy: This spatial data is processed locally on your device or via Meta’s encrypted infrastructure. AnotheReality Srl does not access, collect, or store raw visual data, images, or maps of your physical environment on its own servers.

2. How the Data Is Used

We use the data exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Competition: To display your score and ranking on the global leaderboard.
  • Multiplayer & Colocation: To synchronize the virtual world between multiple players in the same room using Shared Spatial Anchors.
  • Gameplay Mechanics: To allow virtual objects to interact realistically with your physical environment (Mixed Reality).

3. Data Collection and Retention

We follow a strict “no-export” policy regarding your private data:

  • Local Processing: Spatial data (Point Cloud/Anchors) is handled by the Meta Horizon OS and is typically discarded when the session ends.
  • Leaderboard Retention: Scores and User IDs are stored securely on Meta’s infrastructure.
  • No External Storage: We do not use third-party servers or external databases to store your PII or spatial maps.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

  • No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or share user data with third parties.
  • No External SDKs: The App does not contain third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. All interactions occur strictly within the Meta ecosystem.

5. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Under Meta’s policies and GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of your data.

  • Leaderboard Data: You can request the removal of your scores from our leaderboard.
