Driven by the desire to bring self-expression ever closer to everyday life, Nailit! revolutionized the beauty experience by introducing an immersive, creativity-first approach. The goal was to give users intuitive, instantly accessible tools to explore and reinvent their personal style through realistic digital simulations—bridging the gap between traditional beauty routines and experimental design, without relying on physical products or beauty salons.

The Project
In collaboration with Meta, AnotheReality developed Nailit!, a mixed reality experience powered by hand tracking on Meta Quest 3. Designed for new generations of creators and digital natives, Nailit! transforms real hands into expressive digital canvases where nail art becomes a fully interactive and immersive form of personal storytelling.

The platform includes multiple creative modes—ranging from freestyle design to pre-set collections inspired by trends, moods, and user-generated styles. Users can explore, customize, and share their creations in real time, whether they’re experimenting solo or collaborating with others.

All experiences are natively built for spatial computing and supported by the Meta Start Program, ensuring high performance, intuitive interaction, and scalability across XR environments.

The Creative Modes
Each mode is designed as an immersive, goal-oriented beauty experience where users experiment freely and express their identity. Here’s an overview of the key creative environments:

Freestyle Studio
Users unleash their imagination with an open design space, using hand gestures to apply color, shape, and effects. Real-time rendering allows fluid, intuitive expression without menus or controllers.

Trend Lab
This mode curates seasonal collections and challenges users to reinterpret iconic designs. It encourages exploration of aesthetic codes and creative remixing of trending styles.

Mood Designer
Based on emotion recognition or manual input, this mode suggests design palettes linked to feelings like calm, energy, or rebellion. It enhances self-awareness through visual storytelling.

Collaborative Canvas
Users co-create in shared virtual spaces, exchanging techniques and feedback in real time. Ideal for creator communities, influencer collabs, and branded social activations.

Reality Match
Through computer vision and contextual inputs (like clothing or environment), this mode generates matching nail art to complement the user’s real-world look—bridging digital and physical fashion.
